As you may know, on March 7, 2013, President Obama signed into law the “Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013” (known as VAWA). In order to comply with this new law and to remain committed to providing a safe and positive work place for all students, staff and faculty, we at Tufts University are seeking to train all staff and faculty across the university.
Please note that part-time faculty will be compensated $200 for their participation in the training.
The training provides employees with a confidential learning environment that includes lecture as well as small group discussions and activities. Topics include sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, other forms of discrimination, your professional responsibility, retaliation and reasonable accommodations.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR A SESSION
Though we were hoping to train everyone during the fall semester, our community is especially large and we have hundreds of people who have yet to participate. OEO will be offering additional sessions early next semester.
If you have not yet participated in the training, the A&S Dean’s office and the leadership of the Tufts Part-Time Faculty Union ask that you follow these steps:
If you do not have “Learning and Development” section in your eserve or need assistance with on-line enrollment such as changing an already scheduled session, please email Nadra Sultan at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 617-627-3298.
