OEO Training & Compensation Update

As you may know, on March 7, 2013, President Obama signed into law the “Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act of 2013” (known as VAWA). In order to comply with this new law and to remain committed to providing a safe and positive work place for all students, staff and faculty, we at Tufts University are seeking to train all staff and faculty across the university.

Please note that part-time faculty will be compensated $200 for their participation in the training.

The training provides employees with a confidential learning environment that includes lecture as well as small group discussions and activities. Topics include sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, other forms of discrimination, your professional responsibility, retaliation and reasonable accommodations.

Though we were hoping to train everyone during the fall semester, our community is especially large and we have hundreds of people who have yet to participate. OEO will be offering additional sessions early next semester.

If you have not yet participated in the training, the A&S Dean’s office and the leadership of the Tufts Part-Time Faculty Union ask that you follow these steps:

  1. Go to Employee Self Services: http://eserve.hr.tufts.edu
  2. LOG IN to Employee Self Service or PeopleSoft HRMS
(Remember: You can now login using the same User ID and Password you use for other university systems, such as email, iSIS, VPN etc.)
  3. On the Main Menu select Self Service (on your left)
  4. Select Learning and Development (in the middle of the page)
  5. Select Request Training Enrollment
  6. Search by Course Number OEO400
  7. Select View All Available Sessions, then make your selection
  8. Once you sign up for a session, you will receive an automated email confirmation of your session.

If you do not have “Learning and Development” section in your eserve or need assistance with on-line enrollment such as changing an already scheduled session, please email Nadra Sultan at oeo@tufts.edu or call 617-627-3298.

Thank you,
